The shorter the line, the more it asks. Cognitive surrender — the outsourcing of thinking, noticing, friction, judgement — is the failure mode AI use is sliding toward. Convenience is its mechanism. The interface is smooth, the answer arrives, and the practice of arriving at one’s own answer atrophies.
Think deep is the countermove. Not as nostalgia, not as anti-AI, but as a discipline that has to be defended now that defending it is unfashionable.
